The second university study cycle degree programme ("licence") in Psychological Sciences, offers several "orientations" among which the student will chosen one main one. Nevertheless, the Faculty has always been most attentive for these orientations not to be too limiting : hence the reason for each student to follow a certain number of courses in other orientations than that which he has chosen as a priority. |
The potential employment possibilities for the future graduates from the Faculty are distinguished by their great diversity : they are linked to all of the socio-economic, cultural, educational, well-being and health sectors. |
The admission conditions are governed by the articles 10, 11 et 12 of the Decree relating to the reglementation of university studies and academic diplomas (c.f. brochure "General information"). |
The holders of assistant in Psychology diplomas may have access to the "licence" programme in Psychological Sciences, subject to passing an exam enabling the existing verification of the student's knowledge and capabilities. This exam comprises an evaluation of skills (the solving of a problem with the help of texts provided at the moment of the exam, within a set time limit), the evaluation of given basic knowledge in statistics and an evaluation of the knowledge acquired further to the reading passages handed out during the course of the month of June preceding the exam which will take place during the second fortnight of the month of August. |
All information on this subject is available at the Secretary's office of the Faculty (010472011). |
Holders of a different diploma in Human Sciences, delivered by an non-university Institute of Higher Education, as well as holders of a second cycle university degree delivered by another university from the French-speaking Community in Belgium in Psychological Sciences, subject to passing one single exam from the first university study cycle ("candidature"). |
Admission applications should be addressed to the Administrative Director of the Faculty, who will then pass them on to the Academic Secretary. |
The University admission and enrolment procedures are detailed under the "General Information" section. |
The second university study cycle ("licence") in Psychological Sciences covers three years of studies : |
The "licence" programme in Psychological Sciences covers 885 hours of courses in total, of which around 500 hours (variable number depending on the orientations) are followed in the first year and the rest in the third year. |
Sessions to help familiarise the students with the employment market and steps for professional integration are organised for the first year students in Psychological Sciences who plan to do two periods of apprenticeship of 5 months each. The aim here is to demonstrate the importance of practical work, both in terms of content and in terms of it being their first professional experience. The preparation for these practical work experience periods for the first year students in Psychological Sciences is reinforced by means of a preparatory seminar. During these apprenticeships, the students are required to follow a seminar to accompany their work experience under the direction of a teaching member of the Faculty. |
