Currently and until 2006-2007, it is possible, after a second university cycle, (" licence " diploma, engineering diploma ...), to follow various 3rd cycle study programmes, leading either to a specialised diploma (DES), or an in-depth study diploma (DEA). It is also possible to enrol for a PhD course.
As from 2007-2008, the DES and DEA can no longer be organised. The third study cycle will comprise:
- the PhD or doctoral studies
- the work relating to the preparation of a PhD thesis.
The PhD studies worth 60 credits, will be validated by a research training certificate. The work relating to the PhD thesis will correspond to a forfait of at least 180 credits, acquired after an initial course (bachelor + master) of at least 300 credits.
In 2005-2006, all the students accepted on a PhD programme will be enrolled on the corresponding DEA. They will later be grouped into the different PhD course subjects. The activities carried out for their DEA in 2005-2006 will be validated in the context of the PhD course that they will subsequently be enrolled on.
Those programmes are note available in English. Please consult the
French version of the study programme 2005-2006
