Aims

- to familiarize the students with the basic processes of social perception and of management of between groups relations

Main themes

- basic concepts : implicit theories of personality, fundamental error, stereotypes, discrimination, prejudices
- perception bias, namely the research of confirmation
- pragmatical approach of perception: what are the features of a good social judgment?
- theories of the between-group relations
- how to reduce prejudices and discrimination?

Content and teaching methods

- to familiarize the students with the basic processes of social perception and of management of between groups relations

Study of the reactions of people stigmatised facing discrimination
- paradoxical reactions
- schoolong and bad reputations
- strategies to maintain a good self-image

choice between a written work and an oral examination
