Aims
- to familiarize the students with the various approaches in clinical psychology and to provide the bases to analyse the clinical situations according to three major conceptual systems and to current research data.
- to develop the psychoanalytical approach, the systemic approach and the behavioural approach
Main themes
The course includes three equivalent and comparable parts (3X30h):
- epistemological and theoretical presuppositions of the orientation
- description of health field and of mental illness and categorisation of the disorders
- etiological models and morbid processes implied in the various categories of affections
- modes of intervention according to morbid categories
- criterions presiding at the evaluation of the clinical intervention and related research
Content and teaching methods
For the systemic approach:
1. follow-up of the study of the basic notions in systemic psychotherapy
2. development of the idea of 'human environment' from its three founding focuses: the atmosphere, the ethics and the beliefs. We will propose to consider this idea as the systemic object of study, developed at the UCL, and on which are built the bases of a new psychopathology of the human systems.
