Aims

- to present the theoretical knowledge about the group and organisational mechanisms of behaviours;
- to train the students for the analysis of the junctions between the phenomenons developed at the group and organisation level and the individual reactions;
- to provide them with a thorough knowledge of the major themes related to the organisational behaviour and a good understanding of the related management implications.

Main themes

- the external constraints on groups (physical and social environments of groups and their temporal evolution)
- the structural dimension of groups (norms, roles, status and group cohesion)
- the conflicts inside the groups (situations of negotiation, interdependency and social dilemmas, minor and major influences, formation of coalition, mediation)
- groups performance (theories of leadership, groups productivity, decision making, the nature of the task and its impact on the group)
- organisational culture and climate (structure, content and dimension of the culture, sources of organisational culture, links between cultures, attitudes and behaviour)
