Economie du développement (Site FUNDP)) [30.0]Development economics (FUNDP campus) [30.0] This is designed to provide students with economic analysis skills which will enable them to tackle key issues relating to the economies of developing countries, especially issues concerned with growth and the fight against poverty. There is special emphasis on the tools and concepts of economic microanalysis, including how they can also be used in understanding the institutional aspects of development. Empirical analysis techniques, in particular those of micro-econometrics, play a central role: the way in which they can be used is illustrated in relation to issues concerning the identification of the determining factors in poverty and long-term obstacles to growth.
