After the first two-year university study cycle ("candidature"), the "licence" programme in Law has a three-fold objective. It aims, firstly, at further improving the understanding by the future jurist of the technical aspects of different branches of Law : Economic and Social Law, Private Law, Public Law, International Law and Criminal Law. These courses should equip the student with the knowledge he/she shall require in the legal profession. |
The second objective consists of promoting a critical reflection about the law, based on the epistemological tools that the students should have acquired thanks to the interdisciplinarity of the "candidature"programme in Law (Philosophy, Economics, History, Sociology and Psychology). |
Lastly, the "licence" programme in Law gives the students every opportunity to finish their studies by being, at least, bilingual. Language courses are accessible each year ; law courses in a foreign language are compulsory for all students : the student exchanges between foreign universities are highly encouraged (Erasmus-Socrates programmes and national and international programmes). |
In order to be entitled to enrol for a "licence" programme in Law, the student must hold a first degree in Law ("candidature en droit") or a diploma recognised as being equivalent by the Faculty. |
The University admission and enrolment procedures are detailed in the "Access to Studies" section of the WEB page :
