Indexes and tests of relationship between variables (qualitative or quantitative, that are not normally distributed) make it possible to form a picture of the dependency between variables. Nonparametric tests include chi-square test of independence, Fisher's exact test, tests of different correlation coefficients such as Spearman, Kendall, Kappa etc.
