Presentation of the platform

The Statistical Methodology and Computing Service (SMCS) platform is a UCLouvain technology platform offering consultancy services and training in data analysis, both internally to researchers, students and UCLouvain employees, and externally to companies, associations and other socio-economic players.


Why do we collect your data? Which data? Who is the data controller?

The personal data we collect is processed exclusively for the purpose of managing training registrations, consultancy requests, invoicing of the services provided as well as the publication of an annual activity report, based on your consent and in compliance with our legal obligations.

The data is processed in accordance with the applicable legislation and more specifically with Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR) and the Law of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data.

How is your data stored? For how long?

Your data is stored in paper and/or electronic form under the responsibility of the data controller, who takes all the necessary measures to ensure its security.

Appropriate security measures have been implemented to ensure that personal data is used in accordance with the purposes for which it was collected and to prevent any loss, misuse or alteration of the information received.

The data is stored for a period that complies with legal provisions or with the purposes for which it was collected.

Who can access your data? Is data transferred?

Only staff members of the SMCS platform have access to your data.

Data is never shared with other parties.


What are your rights?
  • You have the right to receive confirmation as to whether or not any of your personal data is being processed and, if so, you have the right to access that data.
  • You have the right to data portability for your personal data, under the conditions stipulated by the applicable legislation.
  • You have the right to rectify incorrect or incomplete personal data.
  • You have the right to ask for your personal data to be erased in the cases exhaustively provided for by the applicable legislation.
  • You have the right to ask for the processing to be restricted in the cases exhaustively provided for by the applicable legislation.
  • You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, under the conditions stipulated by the applicable legislation.
  • You have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing at any time.
  • You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority (www.dataprotectionauthority.be).
