Our governance
UCLouvain's technology platforms extend the university landscape formed by research institutes and teaching faculties. There they provide services that benefit research, teaching and society.
As a support platform for data analysis and statistical methods, the SMCS contributes to the quality of both empirical research and teaching in quantitative methods, whether at UCLouvain or anywhere else.
The governance of the SMCS is to be found in its Internal Rules and Regulations. The two mains bodies of the technology platform are the Management comittee and the Users committee.
Management comittee and Users committee
The role of the Management comittee is to ensure strategic decisions respect the platform's missions and every user's interests.
The Users committee is the link between the SMCS and its "customer-users", which means it makes sure that information on the platform's services is well passed on to every UCLouvain entity and it allows systematic feedback from these entities to the SMCS about the services provided and how they are being provided, in order to stay aligned with the needs of the platform's users (are they satisfied?).
The Users committee is accordingly composed of representatives from various UCLouvain entities likely to use the platform's services.

Consultants and trainers (in-house and associated)
In addition to representatives of the university's user entities, the SMCS Users committee also comprises all members of the platform, i.e. UCLouvain staff members whose activity is linked to the platform's missions. This includes in-house and associated consultants.
