Multiple factor analysis (MFA) applies to data tables in which a set of individuals is described by a set of (quantitative or qualitative) variables structured into groups. The benefits of forming groups of variables are twofold: to be able to combine quantitive and qualitative variables in the analysis and to balance the influence of these groups in the overall analysis. The simultaneous analysis of the group and overall factorial axes as well as their respective links with the initial variables provides information on the strength of the relationship between the groups and on their common structure.
