If Belgium is lucky enough to have continuous statistics since 1830, its judicial statistics take various form, content and publication rate that do not facilitate long-term analyzes.
Often at the center of political and scientific debate, statistics play an essential role in the Belgian judicial system. In addition to the purely statistical contribution of this source, the Belgian judicial statistics by their evolution and their discontinuities are revealing signs of the discourse on crime and on justice.
Digithemis highlights judicial statistics through four means:
