1. Introduction
The Bulletin des juridictions indigènes is a supplement to Revue Juridique du Congo belge published by the Société d’Études Juridiques du Katanga. « (manual translation) the idea of this new publication is […] to provide guidance to these hundreds of jurisdictions, created by decree of 15 april 1926, courts whose importance cannot be over-emphasized since they render decisions by the thousands affecting the most fundamental points of indigenous life ; we want to work on the study of customary law ; to deepen the knowledge of customs is necessary not only to apply them, but also to be able to monitor and guide the evolution” (BOURS L., « La chronique judiciaire. Le 25e anniversaire de la Société d’Études Juridiques du Katanga », in Journal des tribunaux d’Outre-mer, n°1, 1950, p. 8-10).
This notice focuses on publications of the jurisprudential type. The bulletin is composed of a summary where the names of the authors are mentioned for each article and occasionally a bibliography. Once a year, in the last volume, an alphabetical table is proposed for authors, studies and jurisprudence.
From July 1960, the journal is renamed Bulletin des Tribunaux coutumiers.
