Cubes
Several different cubes have been created. These resume part of the encoded data from different angles. These cubes are only examples of the many possibilities offered by the consultation database. Other cubes may be created according to user requests. The base will therefore be enriched over time with new cubes..
Access the cubes
Once the user is identified on the application (LOGIN : visiteur, Password : visiteur), just click on the tab Collections to enter the assigned space.
This being done, it arrives on the page devoted to Penal statistics where he can click magnifying glass to access the list of cubes created.
To access a particular cube, then just select magnifying glass corresponding to the chosen cube so that it is displayed on the screen.
Queries
To query encoded data, it is necessary to choose, beforehand, a cube. When this cube is displayed on the screen, the user notices that some concepts are in red. For these, at least one value must be chosen. These are actually values that cannot add up for reasons of inconsistency or faulty data..
In some cubes the value “/” appears. This is an added value to be able to create larger cubes allowing to cross a maximum of concepts. However, this value in itself means nothing, so it would make no sense for the user to choose it.
Example of a request
Request : Number of acquitted for murder in 1905, comparison by provinces
1. Select cube magnifying glass : ACTIVITES 20E (Court of Assizes) – Acquitted by province all types of offenses (1898-1910)
2. Select the values that concern the search. The chosen values become grayed out, red cells turn black when choosing at least one value.
3. Click on the tab Show the results
4. Organize the table of results according to the desired formula
5. Download the .csv file as needed
