Programme by subject

The student will choose a stream in the first year of undergraduate study that he or she will follow throughout their studies.  

Most of the general training courses in the first semester of the first year of the Bachelor¿s programme are common to all students in the Faculty of Philosophy, Arts and Letters.  

Students must choose two language courses from the list below: either two modern language courses or one modern language course and one ancient language course.  

Only students who have taken four hours of Latin for the last four years of secondary education, or who have passed the entry test, may take LFIAL1181. LFIAL1180 is open to all. LGLOR1172 and LGLOR1173 are open to students who have taken a minimum of 2 hours of Greek per week in secondary education.  

Students choose either the two modern languages or one modern and one ancient language taken in the first year. Students may also study one of the two modern languages chosen in their first year and begin the study of an ancient language with a minimum of 6 credits.  

LFIAL1280 and LFIAL1281 are open to students who have either studied Latin for four hours per week during the last four years of secondary education or pass an assessment test at the beginning of the year. LFIAL1180 is open to all.

Students must choose a minor from the University Faculty programmes, subject to possible prerequisites required by the programme managers.
