NEW - Introduction to machine learning with Orange

[2 half days] - [starts on 01-12-2025 at 13:30] - [English] - [Louvain-la-Neuve]

Discover the power of machine learning without coding — this hands-on introduction with Orange will guide you through data exploration, classification, and clustering with an intuitive visual interface.

Training aims

By the end of this training, participants will be able to create and evaluate basic machine learning workflows using Orange’s visual interface. They will understand key concepts such as data preprocessing, classification, clustering, and model evaluation, all without writing code.

Prerequisites
This training course requires some basic statistical knowledge.

Content
The training will cover a diverse set of machine learning methods, both supervised and unsupervised. Techniques discussed will include (among others) neural networks, decision trees, random forests, dimensionality reduction methods, as well as approaches specific to text and image analysis, such as topic modeling, keyword extraction, and trend analysis.

Special attention will also be given to the use of embeddings to represent texts and images in vector spaces, thus enabling their processing by classification, clustering, or visualization algorithms.

All these methods will be explained in an accessible way, without requiring programming, using the Orange software. Each theoretical concept will be illustrated with a practical example, to promote an intuitive understanding of how the techniques work and their possible applications.
