Industrial statistics
Industrial statistics is the application of statistical methods to industry in order to improve product quality, optimize production processes and make data-driven decisions. It includes, in particular, the design of experimental plans and quality control.

The use of quality control techniques makes it possible to monitor and improve production. When manufacturing a product, it is recommended and in some cases mandatory to check that it complies with pre-established specifications or requirements. This guarantees a quality product with a consistent price/quality ratio. Quality control also makes it possible to detect deviations in the manufacturing process over time. These deviations are a source of wasted time and money. Quality control is based in particular on descriptive statistics, cause-and-effect diagrams, control charts and capability tools.
