Bioinformatics

Do you want to analyze your own omics data but you know it would be useful to brush up on your knowledge?

At SMCS, we work in collaboration with BIOINFO, another technology platform of UCLouvain, whose mission is to offer technical and methodological support in the field of bioinformatics. In particular, this platform offers:

• Advice for the conception or writing of projects as well as for the planning of experimental designs;
• Analysis of transcriptomic, genomic, proteomic, metabolomic or epigenetic data obtained from high throughput technologies such as sequencing, microarrays or mass spectrometry;
• Assistance for the exploitation of public databases (TCGA, Gtex, CCLE, ENCODE, ...);
• Development of algorithms and dedicated software.

Throughout the year, the SMCS and BIOINFO also jointly organize several training courses in bioinformatics, ranging from initiation to advanced and covering widely used software such as R.
