Optional courses

The student may , if he so wishes, add one or another "optional course" to his first year programme, corresponding to a maximum of 6 credits. This approach could be interesting from the perspective of choosing a minor for the 2nd and 3rd years of the bachelor programme. However, note must be taken of the following points :

  1. Any minor which has been followed in the 1st year must, if the students chooses to follow the same minor in the 2nd and 3rd years, then be replaced by another course for the same volume of credits, so that each year actually totals 60 credits.
  2. The optional course(s) which the student has enrolled for, will then become part of the student's first year programme, in the same way as any other courses which make up that programme.

Minor (15 credits)

Minor II (15 credits)

Important remark : From the 3rd year of the bachelor programme, the students may take advantage of the Erasmus mobility scheme. It may, however, be better to reserve this opportunity for the 2nd cycle of studies as each student can benefit only once from the Erasmus mobility advantages during his studies. In this context, another possibility for mobility is offered to the students in the third year of the bachelor programme which in no way excludes the possibility of having recourse to the Erasmus mobility advantage in the 2nd cycle. This possibility refers to the student mobility agreement which exists between the ISP and the Hoger Instituut voor Wijsbegeerte of the KULeuven, which organise a Bachelor programme of Philosophy in the Dutch language and in the English language. All inquiries should be addressed to the administrative secretary's office of the Faculty.
