 Bachelor programmes organised at UCL (students enrolled for the first year of the first cycle, as from September, 2004)
A bachelor programme leads to the bachelor diploma for the first study cycle and to the title of Bachelor. It comprises 180 credits, spread over three years of studies.. At UCL, the programme is usually divided up into a major (150 credits), covering the studies corresponding to the title of the diploma, and a minor (30 credits), which offers either an initiation into another subject or further development of the major. The minor is chosen at the beginning of the second year and this programme is spread over the second and third years of the bachelor studies.
Each bachelor's programme gives direct access to the corresponding master's programme. However, depending on the student's programme and his choice of minor, other masters may be accessible, with or without prerequisities.

Minors organised at UCL
At UCL, a minor is a complementary "option " that the student may choose, depending on their programme, as from the second year of studies, from among the minors offered by his faculty or by other faculties. It comprises 30 credits, spread over the second and third years of the bachelor programme. It enables the student to widen his horizons of knowledge or to discover another subject. Besides enriching the student's polyvalence and opening up his mind, the minor may also serve as a factor of reorientation when choosing a master's programme.
