Aims

- to show the interrelations between the concepts, research methods and complexity of the socio-cultural changes
- to draw the problems related to the transposition of the appraisal tools from one culture to another
- to outline the educational implications and the clinical perspectives

Main themes

The course tackles the theme of development in an intercultural perspective and in relation with the various socio-cultural nurtures inside one single culture. It defines the notions of "culture", "socio-economical nurture", "ecological model", "universals" and of the variations according to the culture, of "deficiency" and "difference", and "compensatory education". This theme is tackled namely through the field of cognitive and language development, social and relational development, personality development, values. These will be considered in various contexts such as immigration and approach of non-western cultures.
