- The largest horn of the lateral ventricle
- Anterior limit: genu of corpus callosum
- Posterior limit: atrium
Posterior horn
- Narrows from the front to the back
- Anterior limit: atrium
- Posterior limit: at about 1 cm from the occipital pole
Inferior horn
- From back to front, medially
- Anterior limit: at about 1.5 cm from the temporal pole, under the amygdaloid body

- Posterior limit: atrium
