Symmetrical nuclei within the white matter
- Dentate nuclei
- Within the medial part of the cerebellar hemisphere
- Resembles a folded purse that opens forward and laterally
- Interposed nuclei
- Fastigial nucleus
- Irregular, sometimes indented, with a large anteroposterior axis
- The most medial of the cerebellar nuclei
- Vermian formation
- The front end is separated from the contralateral fastigial nucleus
by a layer of white matter
- The back ends of both fastigial nuclei are united to each other by a grey commissure
