Aims
Thorough study on one or several specific questions related to the French syntax.
Main themes
Leaning on the variety of the theories and with a synchronic and diachronic point of view , the course will deal with specific problems such as the use of tenses, the study of a grammatical class , etc.
Content and teaching methods
The main objective of this course is to to deal thoroughly with one aspect of contemporary French syntax. Theorethical aspects will here be confronted with methodologies coming from different origins. Particular attention will be paid to the data analysis, that illustrate the variation in French syntax, especially starting from oral corpus.

Prerequisites: having followed a general course on syntax problems.
Evaluation : Marks are based on a personal work from the student, which will proof his/her capacities :
- to analyse thoroughly original linguistic data illustrating the variation in French linguistics.
- to clarify the theoretical and methodological choices governing this analysis.
