Aims

- to present in an integrated and detailed manner the main disorders following acquired brain damages and to introduce to their evaluation.
- to present the main semeiologies, by showing their neuroanatomical and neurofunctional bases and to examine the neuropsychological inter^pretations proposed.
- to introduce the students to the main methods of examination, of observation and of measure of the disorders used in case studies in neuropsychology.

Main themes

- systematic presentation of the acquired neuropsychological disorders in the field of attention, memory, visual perception, praxias, (oral and written) language and arithmetics. Semeiology of the frontal damages.
- presentation of the basic neuropsychological evaluation : anamnesis, tests and methods of evaluation, with a discussion on their limits and their theoretical bases.
- discussion and illustrations on the role of the neuropsychologist in medical and paramedical teams.
- discussion on specific neuropsychological problems: the question of hand laterality, the problem of the socio-cultural level, the role of the neuropsychologist in the forensic expertise, the specific problems related to the test/retest in the scope of evolutive semeiologies, the contribution of neuropsychology in the psychiatric pathologies, etc...
