Aims

To bring the students :
1. to perceive the psychological intra- and inter-personal implications of a disability for a person at different ages;
2. to analyse the institutional and social stakes of the practice with handicapped persons and the role of the psychologist with the persons and their entourage.

Main themes

The first part of the course presents, for all handicaps, the problems met by the disabled persons, their familial and professional entourage. In a developmental perspective, the various ages of life are considered (from childhood, included ante-natal period, to adulthood, including the specific problems of old age). The second part of the course also presents problems specific to some handicaps.
In the whole, the course will bring the students to perceive and understand the psychological and psychopathological difficulties of the handicapped person in relation with the social, institutional and familial conditions of appearance or of duration of a handicap.

Content and teaching methods

To bring the students :
1. to perceive the psychological intra- and inter-personal implications of a disability for a person at different ages;
