Aims

At the end of this course the students should be able, from the point of view of the teachers educator,
(1) to thoroughly analyse the devices favouring the development of competences and professional identity of the would-be teachers and to develop theoretically supported significant improvements ;
(2) to thoroughly analyse a special question related to the training of teachers
(3) to analyse their own path along the two years of the "psycho-educational" orientation;

Main themes

This course aims at applying and thoroughly analyse the concepts and models worked in the first part. Each student will thus have the opportunity either to develop a project about a formation practice (e.a., a professionalizing device), either to analyse thoroughly a special question. The final evaluation will be done on the basis of a portfolio realised by each student and will include not only the different productions - particularly those related to the project - but also a re-reading of the own path in the orientation during the two years.

Content and teaching methods

Most of the activities will consist of an individualized and group tutorship to help each student to realize a project or to analyse thoroughly a special question. Some examples of themes : the integrated approaches, the interdisciplinary approaches, the professional formation workshops, the teacher file, the link between the courses and the practical training, how to teach the socio-constructivist theories of learning in large groups, the team animation, the participation of "normaliens" to the evaluation of their practical training, to conciliate the disciplinary approaches and the formation of a comprehensive teacher, the motivation to become a teacher, the work of teaching considered by ergonomists, etc.
To analyse thoroughly this question the students will need personalized contacts with field actors and analysis of the basic documents about the question treated. Teachers trainers will also testify of their original practice; these will be analysed and theorized.

Other information (prerequisite, evaluation (assessment methods), course materials recommended readings, ...)

- Prerequisite : the course FOPA 2260 "Methodology of the initial formation of teachers and educators" or equivalent.
- It follows educational methods fitted for adults including the link between theory and practice, group work, formative assessment and steps of individual and group appropriation and exchanges of the contents. The formation and evaluation devices used will be coherent with the principles learned.
- Evaluation : a final oral presentation (shortened) of the productions will allow all the students to tackle the various questions considered (each student has to provide a mini-syllabus).
