Aims
At the end of the course the students should be able, as psychoeducational teacher, to take part actively to the didactic formation of future teachers in elementary schools and high-schools in the field of the exploration of the natural, human and social environment.
More particularly, they will be able to analyse the educational device of a teaching project in these fields and express some propositions of improvement referring to the didactic principles and to the scientific and expert knowledge about the learning approaches.
Main themes
The course aims at drawing - in an integrated way - different methodological principles needed for the structuration and organisation of the learning related to the approach of the nature sciences (physics, chemistry, biology) and of the human and social sciences (history, geography, social sciences...).
From a methodological point of view, the students will be trained to throw bridges between practical cases (tools, devices, lived approaches, ...) and the theoretical frames, and to express the didactical, psycho-educational and epistemological bases
Content and teaching methods
- Exploration of the "representations" of the students and epistemological bases of the different fields met in the observation of the natural, human and social environment.
- Formation to the basic concepts (environment, natural environment, human and social environment, time, transverse concepts, scientific approaches...).
- Critical choice of the didactical methods relevant in a perspective of development of the competences.
- Practical applications on various environments.
The different fields officially recognised as " geography ", " history ", and " natural sciences " will be studied from an epistemological point of view whose aim is to determine :
a) their contribution to a reading of the environment;
b) the practical stakes of their use;
c) the ideological limits met at this level.
Practical approach of one particular case (an " ordinary " environment).
Exercises of reading and correction of " projects of intervention with a didactical character ", to help the students in their own work to develop a personal project of intervention.
Other information (prerequisite, evaluation (assessment methods), course materials recommended readings, ...)
It follows educational methods fitted for adults including the link between theory and practice, group work, formative assessment and steps of individual and group appropriation of the contents. In this course, the devices presented must be consistent with the learned principles.
