Aims

- To know and understand the main theoretical models of learning and relation with the paradigms of psychology;
- To know and understand various theoretical contributions about the individual and situational factors conditioning learning in different contexts;
- To analyse concrete learning situations in the light of various theoretical contributions of the course.

Main themes

- Conceptual and epistemological clarification related to the notion of learning
- The main theoretical models of learning and their anchorage in the paradigms of psychology : behaviourist, cognitivist and constructivist theories.
- The learning factors : individual factors (e.a., self-esteem, emotions, metacognition, motivation, etc.) and situational factors (e.a., social interactions, groups, institutional and cultural frame and context, etc.).

Content and teaching methods

- Conceptual and epistemological clarification related to the notion of learning
- The main theoretical models of learning and their anchorage in the paradigms of psychology
- The learning factors : individual factors and situational factors.
Methods : Lectures, discussions, case studies, individual and/or group supervision of the works, taking into account the experiential achievements of the students.

Other information (prerequisite, evaluation (assessment methods), course materials recommended readings, ...)

Prerequisite : psychology of development (FOPA 2105).
It follows educational methods fitted for adults including the link between theory and practice, group work, formative assessment and steps of individual and group appropriation of the contents. Illustrations from the various fields of education and from adults formation : continuous education, specialized education, school field, etc.
