Aims

To teach the student how :1° to seize the philosophical conceptions founding the major educational options; 2° to draw and to criticize the conceptions of man conveyed by contemporary human sciences (particularly educational sciences); 3° to understand the specificity of human sciences (particularly educational sciences) and their links with other forms of know-how and with practice.
Objectives of the activity
Introduction to the current state of the reflection on education from its history and from the study of various problems raised by the (scientific, anthropological, political, etc.) discussions about education in order to draw their philosophical stakes.

Introduction to the current state of the reflection on education from its history and from the study of various problems raised by the (scientific, anthropological, political, etc.) discussions about education in order to draw their philosophical stakes.

Content and teaching methods

This course consists of lectures, analyses of important texts of reference and discussion about the problems relevant for the formation and experience of the students in the field of education. It follows educational methods fitted for adults including the link between theory and practice, group work, formative assessment and steps of appropriation of the contents.

It follows educational methods fitted for adults including the link between theory and practice, group work, formative assessment and steps of appropriation of the contents.
Illustrations from the various fields of education and from adults formation : continuous education, specialized education, school field, etc.
The summative evaluation will check the understanding of the doctrines and the ability for the critical analysis of an education problem, in the light of philosophy, of anthropology and of epistemology. It focuses namely on the skill for written communication.
