Aims

To understand how science works, and the application of this knowledge to researching and writing a senior thesis in physical education.

Main themes

The following topics will be studied: the Scientific Method, evaluation by peer review, scientific publications (including senior thesis), accessing the scientific literature online, critical review of the literature, and treatment of data. A class exercise will be performed in order to demonstrate the process of creating a thesis: researching a current topic in physical education, understanding the problem, performing some measurements capable of clarifying the situation, and writing a final report.

Evaluation: at the discretion of the professors
Concerning the exercises, attendance is mandatory and evaluation is continuous
