Vertebral artery
- Origin: subclavian artery
- Gives off the arteries of the brainstem and cerebellum
- Supplies the posterior half of the cerebral artery circle
- Gives rise to
- Merges with the controlateral vertebral artery to form the basilar artery
Posterior inferior cerebellar artery
- Origin: vertebral artery
- Course: lateral and posterior direction to the floor of the 4rth ventricle
- Ending: inferior surface of the cerebellar hemisphere
Basilar artery
- Origin: merged two vertebral arteries at the limit between the pons and the medulla oblongata

- Course: runs upwards on the anterior surface of the pons, within the basilar sulcus
- Gives rise to:
- Splits into two terminal branches around the limit between the pons and the midbrain
: the left and right posterior cerebral arteries
Anterior inferior cerebellar artery
- Origin: slightly above the limit between the pons and the medulla oblongata

- Course: parallel to the limit between the pons and the medulla oblongata

- Ending: ramification around the external circumference of the cerebellum
Superior cerebellar artery
- The largest cerebellar artery
- Origin: just before the division of the basilar artery into posterior cerebral arteries
- Course: along the limit between the pons and midbrain
to the lateral surface of the cerebral peduncle
- Ending: ramification on the superior surface of the cerebellum
Posterior cerebral artery
- Anatomical origin: basilar artery
- Embryologic origin: internal carotid artery (this explains the anatomical variant: the fetal posterior cerebral artery)
- Branches:
