General training courses in the first semester of the first year of the Bachelor¿s programme are common to all students in the Faculty of Philosophy, Arts and Letters. This makes it easier to change to another programme in the Faculty at the end of this semester.  

One of the following two modules : Students should take Greek (Indo-European language) or Arabic (semitic language) in line with their choice of languages in Bac 12.  

In the second year, students should choose a total of 18 credits. For Greek (6 credits x 2), the three extra credits will be registered as "option courses". In the third year student should choose a total of 18 credits, they take at least one of the languages chosen in the second year which then becomes the main Oriental language of the Master's degree programme. For Greek (6 credits x 2), the three extra credits will be registered as "option courses".  

Students are required to choose two courses in the second and third years since by the end of their Bachelor¿s programme, they are required to have taken two "History and Society" courses and two "Culture and Civilisations" courses.

In the second and third years, students choose courses worth a minimum of 9 credits per year. Students may choose a third ancient Oriental language (see list above) or credits from the following lists. In the third year, and with the agreement of their assignment supervisor, students may choose one or more courses which they have not taken in Bac 12.  

The same language must be chosen for the three years.  

Students must choose a minor from the University Faculty programmes, subject to possible prerequisites required by the programme managers. Students spread these courses over the second and third years of the Bachelor programme so that each academic year comes to a total of 60 credits.
