Teaching methodStrong points of the pedagogical approach A certain number of courses (prefixed MCEU) are specific to the Advanced Master in International Law and the Advanced Master in European law: this gives added reinforcement to the way in which international and European subjects are brought together. This is a long established Louvain tradition. The final assignment consists of a special seminar on international law throughout the academic year for 2 hours per week starting from the 7th week of classes, as well as a series of lectures on current issues. Experience shows that this way of working is more helpful and effective for students, particularly those from foreign countries, than the solitary production of a traditional ‘dissertation’, possibly in another language.
The final assessment is continuously assessed ; there is also an assessment of the written overview and the dissertation. Apart from this, assessment is through written or oral examinations.
