Nina van Mastrigt

Post-Doc (2026-)

I am a human movement scientist (bachelor & research master Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam 2010-2014 & 2014-2016), and I am mainly interested in human motor control and learning. During my PhD, I studied exploration in reward-based motor learning (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam 2018-2023). We developed a method for quantifying explorative variability and studied learning from binary success or failure feedback in arm and whole-body movement tasks. During a short postdoc I contributed to a project on reward-based motor learning in children (2023). My PhD research resulted in an interest in the role of proprioception in motor control and learning, and I received a grant to study this topic at the Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen, Germany (2024-2026). During my current postdoc, I will use the KINarm to design motor control experiments along the lines of interest of myself and others in the research consortium.
