Study objectives
Apart from offering a general training course in the
Arts,
this programme provides specialised instruction in Ancient Languages
and Literature, focusing on the direct study of ancient Greco-Roman
written
sources. Analysis of Greek and Latin texts plays a central role in
the course ; it is based on an in-depth knowledge of classical
languages
and on current methods of Hermeneutics, Literature theory and
Linguistics. By the end of this course, the student will have acquired
a mastery of Ancient Languages and their Literature, which will enable
him to tranlsate, analyse, interprete and contextualise written
sources from classical antiquity.
