Aims

The seminar on aspects of practical teaching practice aims to help the student to - integrate the contributions made by the different teacher-training activities: courses, teaching in-class, and personal observations - develop self-study.

Main themes

The themes of the seminar on understanding experiences of teaching practices are chosen on the basis of the activities carried out and the problems, difficulties, and questions encountered by students in the course of their stages(?). They are intended to help students to link up the different teacher-training activities. Some use may be made of micro-teaching sessions, which train student-teachers to make pedagogical connections and to communicate scientific knowledge by using video. In order to develop students' ability to reflect on their own experience, they are asked to build a portfolio which will be maintained throughout their initial training. The seminars on reflexion upon teaching practices are for the most part interactive and take as their starting point the perceptions and personal experiences of the student-teachers.

Other information (prerequisite, evaluation (assessment methods), course materials recommended readings, ...)

The seminar guiding students through teaching practice, which is compulsory, alternate with the in-class teaching (which are divided into two periods). 15 hours of this seminar are common to all science teacher-trainees, while 15 hours are specific to each of the options (mathematics, physics, natural sciences, geography, and agronomy).
