Aims

Learning to teach Italian as a foreign language.

Main themes

After a brief explanation of the methodology used in recent times for teaching Italian as a foreign language, the student must give an Italian lesson. The aim is to focus on linguistic and communication problems faced by students.

Content and teaching methods

Each student will give an hour-long simulated lesson in Italian.. These sessions will be filmed. Analysis of the recordings will help students be aware of their own teaching and linguistic practices.
Depending on the difficulties encountered, exercises will subsequently be set.

Additional information (Prerequisite, Evaluation, Course materials
Prerequisite: an advanced level of Italian is required. Students will be informed of inadequacies in their skills in Italian.
Evaluation: a written piece of work will be required.
