Aims
To allow the good command of different oral expressions " performances " by both theoretical understanding them and by systematically trying them out.
Main themes
- Theoretical presentation of the basic components of oral expression (voice, rhythm, articulation, diction, enunciation situation,...)
- Short history of the oral expression and introduction on its current dimensions.
- Theoretical presentation of the fine skills of oral expression : expressive reading, lecture, oral reviews, interviews, management of verbal interactions, specific improvisation used practices,...
Content and teaching methods
This course provides the students with an introduction to some concepts in relation with the study of spoken speech : communicative competence, context and contextualization, style and register.
It combines a theoretical approach with the analysis of fragments from authentic data.
Students are required to read a collection of papers for the exam.

Prerequisites : Theoretical course linked to the exercises of the course ROM 2530.
Practise of conversation in French.
