Aims
By the end of the course and the tutorials, students should be able to:
- understand the grammatical structure of Spanish and its usage;
- master the practical application of the above;
- show both oral and written communicative skill in Spanish.
Main themes
- Consolidation and deepening of (normative) grammatical knowledge acquired in the first two study years.
- Descriptive and critical study of Spanish grammar based on the analysis of works from important contemporary authors, both Spanish and Latin-American;
- Tutorials aiming to improve listening and reading comprehension on the basis of authentic documents;
- Tutorials aiming to broaden active knowledge of the basic vocabulary
- Tutorials aiming to develop the mastery of oral and written expression.
Content and teaching methods
Course: following upon the normative approach to Spanish grammar in the first year, the second year presents a descriptive approach based on the grammatical analysis of texts from important contemporary authors, both Spanish and Latin-American.
Tutorials: these aim to improve reading and listening comprehension, to broaden active knowledge of the basic vocabulary, to develop the mastery of oral and written expression.
