Aims
The seminar aims to foster the integration between theoretical issues in foreign language teaching methodology and classroom practice. The student teachers will be invited to critically assess their classroom experience so as to facilitate pedagogical reflection and adapt and/or improve teaching strategies.
Main themes
Integration between theoretical issues in FLT and actual classroom practice.
Content and teaching methods
The themes will vary each year and be selected on the basis of:
- the types of students attending the seminar and their personal experience
- the topics addressed in their classroom practice
- the problems encountered in their classroom practice
The themes will be FLT specific such as for instance : FLT curriculum design, foreign vs native language use in the classroom, the value of a contrastive approach in FLT, focus on form in a communicative framework, the various types of assessment methods, the use of new technologies in foreign language teaching and learning.
