Aims
At the end of this practical instruction, the student must be able to achieve:
- fixed prosthesis restorations (on teeth or implants) in simple cases treatment planning as well as in more more complex ones,
- standard complete dentures or implants supported ones,
- standard removable partial dentures or combined with fixed prosthesis
Main themes
- Assumption of of patients requiring a prosthetic rehabilitation and
achievement of the treatment planning.
- Practical application, in an increasing autonomous way, with a critical manner, and
within clinically reasonable deadlines, the theoretical knowledges and
practical ones (preclinical and clinical) acquired in the fields of fixed and removable prosthesis.
Content and teaching methods
Contents:
- Assumption of patients requiring prosthetic treatment in the fields of fixed and removable prosthesis. The student will achieve the clinical steps of treatment (in the fields of fixed and removable prosthesis) and the main laboratory steps (in the field of removable prosthesis).
Method:
- achievement of the different clinical laboratory steps under very close supervision.
- more selective interventions of the supervisors to guarantee the quality of the care and to achieve the different works within reasonable deadlines.
Other information (prerequisite, evaluation (assessment methods), course materials recommended readings, ...)
Pre-necessary:
- theoretical knowledge and practical exercises in in the fields of operative dentistry, fixed and removable prosthesis, - theoretical knowledge of anatomy, dental materials and periodontology.
Evaluation:
- continuous evaluation, all along the year, of different works, of the autonomy of the student, of his critical sense and of the quality of his relations with the patients.
- Final clinical examination (a specific work of fixed or removable prostheses).
