Aims

The course aims to enable the student to function in the relevant social and professional contexts (law enforcement, the judicial world, the execution of criminal sentences, the field of prevention policies and psycho-social interventions).

Main themes

MAIN THEMES

Classroom activities simulate real situations which call on speaking skills (meetings, job interviews, telephone conversations, talks on legal topics, etc¿) and, to a lesser extent, writing (e-mail, letter of application, etc).

Aim and contents
The development of skills that will enable the students to function in the relevant social and professional contexts (law enforcement, the judicial world, the execution of criminal sentences, the field of prevention policies and psycho-social interventions).

PREREQUISITE
The ANGL 1823 course or any other equivalent course.

CONTENT

The course aims at developing the communication techniques appropriate to professional life as well as improving command of the language (general and specific vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation).

TEACHING METHODS

- Interactive communication through classroom activities.
- Exposure to a variety of real-life situations requiring specific language functions.
- Consolidation and improvement of grammar use, vocabulary accuracy as well as pronunciation.
- Regular feedback on the student's oral production.

- Continuous assessment.
- Oral exam.
