Aims

The priority in this course is the development, among future teachers, of the ability to identify - difficulties and obstacles involved in studying concepts in the subject, - ethical problems associated with the development of this discipline with a view to using these to design teaching modules in line with the new syllabi.

Main themes

The courses on special teaching methods focus on the teaching of the sciences that go to make up the discipline. The supplementary course on teaching methods in agronomy focuses primarily on the study of practical applications of the life sciences and environmental sciences. In this context, the principal concepts dealt with in the syllabi for the later years of secondary education will be approached from the point of view of their connections with one another. They will be related to learning difficulties experienced by pupils, as described in the research into teaching methods carried out by the teachers taking part in the course. Future teachers will be encouraged to gather and/or analyse data from pupils and to come up with appropriate teaching strategies.
