Aims

Familiarization with the experimental work in a biomedical research laboratory

Main themes

At the end of the workshop, the students should be able to :
- understand an experimental protocol
- master the use of laboratory instruments
- analyse and interpret experimental results
- write a laboratory notebook

Content and teaching methods

The students will perform different experiments :
- bacterial transformation and DNA purification
- RNA purification and analysis
- culture of eukaryotic cells, plasmid transfection and meassurement of reporter gene activity

Prerequisite : ANAT2120, FARM2182
Evaluation will be based on two elements :
- the quality of the participation to the workshop
- the writing of a notebook describing the results of the experimental work
