To allow the students to have a rigorous linguistic reflection based on concrete data.
Main themes
Linguistic study of texts and documents (contemporary or not) belonging to different genres (literary or not), so as to especially understand the lexical phenomena (lexical creativity, jargon and slang, borrowings, regionalism, etc). The student is initiated to the analysis of a computerized data base. Some questions can be dealt with from a teaching point of view ( applied linguistics).
