Aims

The course aims to give an introduction to the metric theory of manifolds from the tools of topology, analysis and geometry elaborated in the other courses of the 3rd year.

Main themes

The course's object is the study of Riemannian manifolds. It contains the basic results and treats of important examples that are the hyperbolic spaces, the Lie groups and the symmetric spaces.

Prerequisites: course of differential geometry.
