Aims

The student shall be able to understend and utilize the basic principles of electricity and magnetism to explain the functioning of the commonly used devices in electrotherapy.

Main themes

The student is first introduced to the basic properties of elementary electrical circuits in DC and AC. This knowledge shall allow him to understand and utilize the elementary functioning of electrical stimulators in clinical settings and the scientific evidence for electrotherapy. A few applications shall be studied in depth ionophoresis, stimulation of healthy and diseased muscles and electroanalgesia).
