Aims
In-depth study of basic rules of public international law; underlining of the political stakes that may be linked thereto and of the practical problems to which application of these rules may give rise.
Main themes
The themes are determined each year by the professors together with the students. If need be, they may go beyond the bounds of so-called public international law in the strict meaning of the term in order to reveal the close links between the latter and so-called private international law (jurisdiction, nationalisation). As far as possible, the course is based on cases, articles and other material derived from present-day practice.
Content and teaching methods
There is no textbook. Active participation by students is required.
