Aims
The course is part of the package "Environment" of the 3rd year program of Management Engineer. It is therefore conceived as a close complement to the other two courses in the package, namely, "Business and the environment" (FSA 2245) and the seminar "Management of environmental issues" (ESPO 2104). The teaching objective of the courses and the seminar as a whole is to enable students to understand and properly manage contemporary environmental matters inside companies. More specifically, the object of the course Environmental Management is to explain and help students to properly exploit the tools of environmental management. Its purpose is also to sensitize company managers to the essential issues of natural resources management and sustainable development, and to stimulate them to incorporate such dimensions into management policies and strategies.
Content and teaching methods
The course alternates ex cathedra presentations and discussions with students. Representatives from sectors concerned by the topic (companies, federations, administration) are invited to share their experience. The materials taught during the course are largely exploited in the scope of the seminar "Management of environmental issues".
